Home euthanasia for pets in Runcorn
A peaceful goodbye, in the comfort of home.
Autumn Tails provides gentle home euthanasia for cats and dogs in Runcorn and the surrounding areas. When the time comes to say goodbye, being at home can allow your pet to remain somewhere familiar, surrounded by the people they know and love.

A calm and familiar place to say goodbye
Saying goodbye to a much-loved pet is never easy. For some families, being able to stay at home can make those final moments feel calmer and more personal.
Rather than travelling to a veterinary practice, your cat or dog can remain in their favourite place, surrounded by familiar smells, sounds and the people they trust. There is no need to rush, and you can take the time you need to say goodbye.

Autumn Tails provides home euthanasia for cats and dogs throughout Runcorn and nearby areas. Whether you are in the town centre or surrounding communities such as Weston, Halton Lea, Beechwood or Sandymoor, I can come to your home to provide a calm and private farewell for your pet.
Being able to say goodbye at home means your pet can remain somewhere familiar and comfortable, without the stress of a journey or an unfamiliar veterinary environment.

Is home euthanasia right for my pet?
Choosing when to say goodbye is one of the hardest decisions a pet owner has to make. If you're worried about your cat or dog's quality of life, your own vet can help you assess whether the time may be approaching.
Home euthanasia can be a comforting option for families who would prefer their pet's final moments to take place somewhere familiar and peaceful. If you're unsure whether it is the right choice for you and your pet, I'm happy to talk through the process and answer any questions before you make an appointment.
What Happens During a Home Euthanasia Visit?

1. Time to talk
We take time to talk about your dog, how they have been recently and any questions or concerns you may have. I’ll explain what will happen before we begin.

2. Gentle sedation
Your dog will first be given an initial injection of pain relief and sedative to help them become deeply relaxed and comfortable, in familiar surroundings.

3. A peaceful goodbye
Once your dog is calm and comfortable, the final injection is given. You can stay close throughout, talking to them, holding them or simply sitting quietly beside them.

4. Dignified aftercare
After your dog has passed, you can spend some quiet time together. If you have chosen the aftercare package, we'll then gently take them to the crematorium, wrapped in soft blankets and carried with care.
