About Autumn Tails

After 15 years as a small animal vet, I’ve seen just how important it is to make a pet’s final moments gentle, peaceful and personal.

In clinic settings, goodbyes often happen under bright lights, surrounded by unfamiliar smells and sounds. But at home, it can be entirely different — calm, unhurried and filled with love. That difference inspired Autumn Tails — a service created to give families the option of saying goodbye where their pets feel safest.

Along the way, I met Amy while working in practice. We quickly became close friends, bonded by a shared love for animals and a deep understanding of the comfort they bring to our lives. Amy brings warmth, compassion and an intuitive gentleness to everything she does, and I’m so lucky to work alongside someone who shares the same heart for this work.

Together, we’re here to offer not just veterinary care, but emotional support, time and tenderness — helping you give your pet a peaceful and dignified farewell, at home.

Every pet’s life is a story. The last chapter should be written with love.

Autumn Tails operates by appointment only. While we strive to accommodate short-notice and emergency requests, if we cannot attend promptly, we may advise an emergency visit to your regular vet. As we do not have access to your pet’s medical history, we are unable to offer advice on their general health. If you are uncertain whether euthanasia is the appropriate choice, please consult your regular veterinary practice or their out-of-hours service for guidance.
